Guidelines Tests - Mitral Regurgitation

EchoSolv Audit (MR) uses the hemodynamic ranges set out by the 2020 ACC/AHA guidelines for valvular heart disease, ASE recommendations on chamber quantification (Roberto Lang et al Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, January 2015), the 2022 ESC guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension and the Zoghbi ASE recommendations on the quantitation of valvular regurgitation in determining whether Progressive or Severe Chronic Mitral Regurgitation is present.

This is applicable to our users globally and guidelines checks for Mitral Regurgitation will be conducted when the below criteria are provided.

Chronic Mitral Regurgitation checks can only be conducted when at least one of the following (group 1) measurements are provided:

  • Mitral Regurgitation Flow Convergence Radius

  • Mitral Valve Regurgitant Volume

  • Mitral Valve Regurgitant Fraction

  • Mitral Regurgitation Effective Regurgitant Orifice Area PISA

AND one of the following (group 2) measurements is provided:

  • Left Atrial Volume Index

  • Left Ventricular Systolic Diameter Parasternal Long Axis

  • Tricuspid Regurgitation Peak Velocity

You can find out more about the results in the Results Explained - Mitral Regurgitation | Echo IQ Help Center page.
